Before I get to the point I want to give you my definition for Conversion Rate Optimization.
What is Conversion Rate Optimization?
It is a process where you test various changes on your website to achieve more conversions. But, to be able to test those changes you have to know how your visitors are acting on your website, what they are doing, where they are coming from, where they are clicking… All in all, you need to have traffic to your website, so that you can make Conversion Rate Optimization.
Website missing important components
Some days ago a lead contacted us wanting Conversion Rate Optimization for his website.
As we start every project by first analyzing the client’s website, this time was no different. I asked the client for his website.
I saw that the website was missing many basic things:
- Primary and Secondary website goals
- Clear Webcopy – no use of copywriting
- Fresh and updated content optimized for Search Engines
- Text formatting and images included
- Email forms on the website
- No Social Media buttons integrated
It was missing necessary components to become a real Inbound Marketing Platform.
Missing Website Traffic
I checked it on ahfefs.com to see how much its organic traffic is, and what keywords it is competing for.
But, when I saw the statistics I immediately concluded that this website was missing a whole part of Online Marketing: Content and SEO.
It had almost none organic search and it was competing for only one keyword.
So, we suggested the potential client that we optimize his website first and make it Online Platform.
We suggested our client to Create content strategy and start driving traffic to his website(free organic or paid) and then see if CRO is what he really needed.
Maybe with these changes his website wouldn’t need any optimization.
Maybe his visitors would like and appreciate the content and they would seek for his services.
However, we never found out, as he refused to do this.
So, do you need Conversion Rate Optimization consultant?
At this time, No, he didn’t need Conversion Page Optimization consultant. He needed Inbound Marketing Specialist.
After the changes, we could start to talk about Conversion Rate Optimization, but we wouldn’t do anything until we had enough data on visitor behavior. And that can be concluded after, at least 1000 visitors/month.
So, before you go and look for any Conversion Rate Optimization Consultant make sure your website is fully ready for Inbound Marketing.
