”OK, so now I have my website and I check the Analytics. My website is getting reasonable amount of views per day. Why isn’t the phone ringing, then? Why are very few people asking for my services?”
Have you found yourself in a situation like this?
Find out what the problem is with your website and how to increase website conversion?
Analyze your traffic good
It is a good sign that you check Analytics, but, next time you need to analyze your traffic, too. What kind of audience comes to your site.
If the website is getting enough organic traffic, you have to analyze what keywords the website is competing for and if they are relevant to your business.
Maybe you are missing the keywords. For example, maybe your visitors are coming to your website to get something for free. That means they are not ready to buy and they won’t convert at that moment.
So, what you can change in this situation is create new content strategy and start creating new and different content based on keyword research.
If you are paying to get your website traffic (creating PPC campaigns) you can be either:
- missing your Targeted Audience
- again missing the keywords you are bidding for
- not excluding negative keywords
That means that you are not getting relevant traffic and you are spending money in vain.
What you can do is review your campaigns and make appropriate changes. If you are not an expert in PPC advertising, seek for help from someone who knows how to handle Online Advertising.
Analyze your Website
If you cant find your problem with Analytics, take a look at your Website. It may be chasing your visitors away.
Since your website, as part of the modern marketing era, is a part from Inbound Marketing, it should follow some principles to fulfill your Business goals.
What’s your website like? Is it easy to navigate through it? What about on different devices?
Your visitors will leave immediately if they can’t figure out how to move through your website and find information of their interest. Your website has to be able to serve visitors no matter the device they are accessing it through (desktop, tablet, mobile).
What may be the problem with your website is pure Web Copy, or no web copy at all. If your visitors don’t get what is your website about and what value you will give them at first glance, they will leave.
So, if you haven’t asked a professional to write your USP and web content, it may not be focused on the audience, but yourself, or even worse, something else.
That way you are not attracting visitors to continue on your website and take some action, but you are letting them go.
People may not like to be told what to do, but Online you have to direct them to take some Action: Call, Subscribe, Send comment…
So, what your website is missing may be Call-to-Actions. Can be buttons or some text that will clearly tell people what should their next step be on your website.
70% – 96% of visitors leaving your website will never return!
Not unless you give them good reason to return. You should offer them something they will not want to miss in exchange for their email address. So, they will be reminded about you every time they read, use, share your content, tool, advice.
You can do that by placing opt-in forms:
- in the right sidebar
- at the end of the blog posts
- pop-up on exit intent
